The pandemic and the strategy to combat it have resulted in a food crisis that affects the poorest population in Paraguay. In response to this crisis, the Social Pastoral of the Catholic Church of Paraguay requested its different parishes to initiate a food program using soup kitchens.
The donation of $ 3,000 aims to provide food and personal protective equipment to 300 people living in one of the settlements in the city of Areguá.
The parish of Our Lady of the Candelarias in the city of Areguá is the executing agency which will be responsible for supervising the project. The project was approved by the Board of Directors of the Retirees Association on June 26, 2020 and the funds were disbursed on July 8, 2020.
