News from the event series “From Your Couch”

The launching of the virtual event series “From Your Couch” has been a success. On October 22nd we had a live virtual class on how to improve our strength, balance and prevent falls, which was presented by Lucia Lee, a physical therapist specialized on the subject. More than 40 retirees participated, who not only did have the opportunity to learn about it but were also able to measure their level of balance and practice exercises to strengthen it.
Thank you, Lucia!

On November 19th, we had the second event offering us a virtual tour of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC which was conducted in Spanish by Ludmila Pruner, a gallery docent. More than 40 retirees living in the Washington area, Florida, and the Region participated. The 90-minute tour allowed us to learn in detail about the gallery’s most important works of art, including works by Fra Angelico and Fra Felippo Lippi, Leonardo da Vinci, Giorgione, Giovanni Bellini, Titian, El Greco, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Salvador Dalí, and Alexander Calder, among many others.
