Important Deadlines in the Medical Benefits Program

Dear colleagues,

As members of the IDB Group Medical Benefits Program, we would like to inform you about the extension of important deadlines in response to the current evolution of the pandemic. We continue to work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to keep you informed and help you receive medical services as you need them during this challenging time.



Temporary Provision

End Date

PrescriptionsMembers outside of the U.S. may continue to submit reimbursement claims for prescriptions that were valid as of February 1, 2020, even though they may have expired since that date. The receipt for the purchase and a copy of the prescription are required for reimbursement.

 However, if it is possible for you to visit your doctor in person or via a telemedicine visit to obtain a current prescription for your medication, we urge you to do so.

Telemedicine The IDB Group plan will continue to cover telemedicine visits with members’ primary care physicians who are offering them in lieu of, or in addition to, office visits. Regular office visit copays will continue to apply.

 This applies to all members whose providers directly offer telemedicine services, both in- and outside the U.S.

Behavioral Health

Telemedicine services for behavioral health will continue to be offered to all members, both in- and outside the U.S. with no member copay.March 31, 2021
COVID-19 TestingAll COVID diagnostic swab and serological testing will continue to be offered with no member copay.Extended until further notice
vHealth telemedicine programvHealth is a telemedicine service provided through Aetna International at no charge to members to provide video or telephone appointments with highly qualified primary care physicians who can assist with routine care or referrals as may be needed.

 If you have not yet registered for this service, we urge you to do so. The introductory materials and registration instructions sent previously are attached here for your convenience.

Moreover, we would like to inform you that as of January 1st, 2021, Best Doctors will change its name to Teladoc Medical Experts. You will receive a communication in early January from Teladoc that will explain in more detail their enhanced services, the change of name, and a link you will use to set up an account.

We continue to monitor the health aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic closely and work with our administrators, Aetna International and Express Scripts International, to assist you with these extended deadlines and special service offerings.
