Guatemala – Helmet-Based Ventilation – Fundación para el Desarrollo de Guatemala (Fundesa)
Helmet-based ventilators have proven to be a good alternative for patients who have respiratory problems but do not require intubation and the use of an artificial respirator.
The $ 6,333 donation will fund the purchase of 21 helmet-based ventilators. This donation forms part of a larger program carried out by the Foundation for the Development of Guatemala (FUNDESA) to purchase 1,200 helmet-based ventilators at a cost of $ 360,000 for distribution to public hospitals in Guatemala.
The Foundation for the Development of Guatemala will be the executing agency of the project and will also be in charge of supervising it. The project was approved by the Board of the Association of Retirees on July 15, 2020 and the funds were disbursed on July 20.
