From Your Sofa: Citizen Science Initiative with Guatemalan Biologist Nino López

On April 10, Ninoshka López, a young Guatemalan biologist with postgraduate studies in Chile and currently an intern at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, shared her experience in citizen science and marine conservation projects. She also spoke about her involvement with the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). Topics discussed included pollution, beach waste management, the importance of environmental education around the world, and the establishment and extraordinary growth of the OWSD chapter in Guatemala.
