Fitness Center at the IDB HQ

The Fitness Center offers health and fitness activities and programs to support the well-being of its members and provides them with a safe environment, the necessary equipment, and technical expertise to help them achieve their fitness goals.

Eligibility

All retirees that are covered by the Bank’s medical insurance program or any other comparable medical insurance program, are eligible for membership in the Fitness Center.

Hours of Operation

Retirees can access the Fitness Center from Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm.

Staffed Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.

Enrollment

To join the Fitness Center, please contact the Staff Association here. You can download the registration form here.

  • Memberships start on the 1st or the 16th of each month.
  • The cost of the membership is $20 per month.

Payments should reflect the monthly fees from the starting date until June 30th or December 31st. The Staff Association will provide more information about the payment options once you start the enrollment process.

Fitness Assessments

A great way to start your fitness journey is by setting goals and testing your current fitness levels. Sign up for an assessment with a fitness center staff member. This assessment is comprised of multiple tests to evaluate your muscular endurance, strength, body composition, and cardiovascular health. With this data on record, you can assess trends in your health status and affect positive change.

Incentive Wellness Programs

The Fitness Center provides various group challenges and educational programs throughout the year to keep you engaged and connected with your health and well-being and encourages you to connect with other fitness center members!

Group Classes

Classes are offered in the morning and afternoon by experienced instructors from Aquila. New to exercise? Don’t worry. All fitness levels are welcome!

  • Ring My Bells: A strength class that focuses on exercises that incorporate dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbells. Total duration for this class is 1 hour and is a full body workout.
  • Any Thing Goes: Total body routine designed to burn fat and build muscle. It’s called Any Thing Goes, because each class is different in the equipment that is used. One day it may center around dumbbells and the next class may be cardio focused. Be ready for anything.
  • Strength Circuit Training: A high intensity circuit class that is meant to make you work hard. This class is total body and combines strength training with cardio. 30-60 second interval sets will make you work hard down to the last second of class.
  • HIIT and Core: High intensity cardio circuit class that also improves core stability. Total duration for this class is 45 mins. Focuses on getting your heart rate up with a lot of movement.
  • Low Impact Stretching: This midday class helps you limber up in the middle of your workday. Very easy going and designed to relax you while also increasing flexibility and strength with low impact total body stretches.
  • Spin & Lift: Cycling class with a mixture of strength training. Half of the time spent cycling on the spin bikes the other half incorporates strength exercises either with or without weight. Total duration for this class is 1 hour.
  • Core & Cardio: Cardio/core class that focuses more on core stability compared to HIIT and Core. Focuses on movement and increasing the heart rate. Total duration for this class is 45 mins.
  • Yin Yoga: Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. Advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. Total duration for this class is 1 hour.
  • Yoga: Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind. It uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health. Total duration for this class is 1 hour.
  • Zumba: Zumba is an interval-style dance fitness party that combines low-intensity and high-intensity moves. You’ll burn lots of calories as you move to the rhythm with Latin-inspired dance moves. Total duration for this class is 1 hour.

Personal Training

This is your chance to receive individualized guidance from an experienced trainer that will design a workout program tailored to your specific goals. Trainers are experts in adapting the programs to beginners or more experienced members.
