The pandemic in Chile has negatively affected the supply chain, especially for products related to hygiene and general cleaning. It has become very difficult to have access to these products in some parts of the country, exactly when they are so necessary to keep homes protected and thus contribute to slowing down the transmission of the coronavirus.
The donation of $3,167 will be used towards the purchase of hygiene kits for 108 low-income families living in rural areas of the Araucanía region of Chile. The kits will provide products required for cleaning and disinfection and will help reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The “Desafio Levantemos Chile Foundation” is the executing agency of the project and as such will be responsible supervising implementation of the project. The project was approved by the Board of Directors of the Retirees Association on June 18, 2020, and the funds were disbursed on June 25, 2020.
