Argentina – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Children and Young Adults with Cancer – Fundación Natali Dafne Flexer

The risk of contagion of the Covid-19 coronavirus is much higher for children and young people with cancer given that they are already immunocompromised and undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment; they may also present other associated pathologies. These patients need to continue their treatments, this does not allow them to comply with isolation requirements and as a result they are more likely to become infected.

The $ 3,000 donation will finance the purchase of hygiene and protection kits for 250 patients and their families. It will also benefit 120 health workers from the Hemato-Oncology services of public pediatric hospitals in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires and in the provinces of Argentina.

The Natali Dafne Flexer Foundation is the executing agency of the project and will be in charge of its supervision. The project was approved by the Board of the Retirees Association on June 23, 2020 and the funds were disbursed on June 25.
