Good afternoon,
Bellow is a statement from our EAP partner outside the US (WPO). They have been
taking the appropriate steps to handle the additional volume they have been seeing as a
result of the coronavirus, as well as other reasons.
With respect to the BCP for the Aetna International Operations, we have implemented
several measures, we are prepared and we do not anticipate any disruption at our service
centers.
The health and well-being of Aetna International employees, customers and members is
our top priority. As per advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),
the World Health Organisation (WHO), and local government authorities, our global offices
are currently open for business.
To best protect our employees and anyone they may come into contact with as part of our
day-to-day operations, we have implemented several measures to minimize the risk of
viral transmission within our offices, including reducing face-to-face meetings, increasing
flexible working arrangements, ensuring regular temperature checks, limiting working
hours, and increasing the supply of masks and sanitizes.
If a situation occurs where we are required to temporarily close one of our offices, we want
to reassure our customers that we have planned for this situation, and operationally our
employees are able to work effectively from home. We do not anticipate any disruption to
our service; however, due to the evolving nature of the virus we cannot predict every
eventuality. If we experience any challenges to our service, we will provide further
communication.
With the above precautions in place, we believe our offices remain a safe, low-risk
environment for all employees. Additionally, we have limited business travel across Aetna
International, implemented quarantined periods for any employee who has recently visited
a high-risk region, and suspended non-essential domestic and international travel. Our
Clinical Leaders and Business Continuity Team continue to monitor the situation, and our
guidance is updated accordingly.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please let us know. We will
continue to keep you and your team informed of the updates and actions around the virus.
