Once again, the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB Association of Retirees, the Staff Association, and the IDB Global Federal Credit Union are teaming up in collaboration to solicit donations and be able to help all those affected by the two consecutive Hurricanes that hit Central América.

 

Just a week after they were hit by the terrible Hurricane Eta, millions of people in Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua were hit again by Hurricane Iota.

 

Central America urgently needs our help — first to deal with the humanitarian emergency, and then to take on the arduous task of recovery and reconstruction.

 

The Bank has been in constant communication with staff residing in these countries and with national authorities to coordinate IDB support. They are channeling fast disbursement resources and are preparing impact assessments in affected areas. Also, they are working with the World Bank and the BCIE to coordinate efforts.

 

President Mauricio is pleased to inform you that, in collaboration with the Directors for Central America and the Employees Association, they are launching an internal campaign “Central America, We Are With You” to support local organizations that are providing food, housing and health care to affected families. The Bank’s administration will double staff donations, up to $50,000.
